new valentines signs and tags
My friend and I had a crafting day. I painted the wood and she brought the vinyl letters. We sanded them here and wrapped the wire around the stack. We both needed more Valentine decorations and came up with this. It was so much fun talking with someone and at the end of the day having accomplished something too.
We coffee dyed some tags as well and stamped on them - sweet, but dirty looking Valentines. I later printed some images on velum and sewed them on the tags. I like how they turned out.
I have been working on these primitive Valentine Signs for about a week. It's a long process sometimes. They are reverseable since I couldn't decide which phrases to stencil. I wanted to add just a little something extra so I sewed a few hearts out of felt and red fabric and have them hanging from the wire. They needed a little something and not another piece of homespun!
Finally, these are a quick attempt at some barrettes I made for Mallory after seeing them here - angrychicken. I really want to make some red ones and add polka dots and get some cute buttons to add too. I will get to those when I get back from my sweet but short vacation to Cali.

projects in the works
My head is always spinning it seems. I jump from one project to the next, never completing the first before I move on to the second. Here are a few photos of the projects I have going. I have two others not pictured, but since they are Valentine gifts, I will wait to post those when they are done and given away. The first photos are the fabric I am making a baby blanket out of. I love the bright pinks and reds together. The others are cards I am making for Thank Yous and some vintage Valentine tags. All were in need of one thing before I could go on, like warm and natural for the blanket, envelopes and new scissors for the Thank Yous and a new print cartridge for the tags (if you look closely you can see the streaks in the red heart), so those were all purchased today and I should be good to go.

digital scrapbooking
I watched a digital scrapbooking tutorial DVD tonight all the way through and when I was done it was very late. Since I already missed my bedtime window, I decided to attempt a scrapbooking page using some of the new techniques I had learned (actually, it was all way over my head, but a few things stuck). This is my first attempt.

project pincushion
I have been on the lookout for a cute pincushion pattern that was super simple. This one from fit the bill. Super easy and so cute. I have made a few and I feel more coming on. I was thinking you could add ribbon, ric rac, or other embellishments to jazz it up, but even just the patchwork pattern is enough to call it pretty.
