new business cards

I ordered business cards from Vistaprint and they did not turn out great. They cut off the turquoise border even though I re sized it several times so that it showed that it worked on their template. I was frustrated when I got them. So, in the mean time, I printed some out myself and tried to spiffy them up a bit by sewing them on a scrap of fabric. I think I like the result. Now, I just need to find somewhere else to do the printing before I use up all the ink on my computer. Any suggestions?

In Canada there is a Staples Business Depot. I printed cards there before, on their printers, and I also ordered business cards from them at a reasonable price.

I had very good luck with Vista Print--too bad your experience wasn't the same.

Good luck!

MOO.com is excellent and very well-priced! I highly recommend them.

Cheryl blogged about a deal where between Moo and etsy you could print free cards, and did a tutorial on a card holder. See her post here:

I think you did a nice job on your own. I like the graphic!

I would like to play around with making a logo of my own, but am not sure what kind of software I would need... I would love to only have to buy one thing that would allow me to do it all (logo, font, biz card layout, etc.). Is that what you did?

InstaProofs does a pretty good job, in my opinion. Much better than Vista.

I love that you sewed yours to fabric! Not sure if you are a giveaway-entering kind of gal but UPrinting (who I enjoy using) always holds giveaways for business cards with free US shipping. Do a google search or search on twitter hashtags #uprinting for their current giveaways.

Thats really a cute design. Love the idea of attaching them on fabric. Give the whole thing an interesting look.

I am sorry to hear your business cards from VistaPrint turned as they did. I personally do design business cards on zazzle.com and sell them there. I have made a couple of business cards for a family member who has a child dancing group and they turned out great.

If you decide to give zazzle.com a try, feel free to contact me if you need any help or want me to set your design up on a template.

Good luck...

overnightprints.com is my fave. they do lovely rounded corners, the colors are vibrant and right on, the paper weight is much better than vista and they are affordable. I am patiently waiting my new batch as we speak.

My favorite is overnightprints.com too. I've printed about 20 different times there, and I've been really happy with their quality. The finish is really nice and the colors turn our vibrant. But the ones you made are pretty darn cute! Love the fabric you used.

Love the cards, but I am sure it is not feasible to sew hundreds of cards:)

I have used Vistaprint for all of my cards. One time I had an issue with a t-shirt and called them. They happily gave me a refund and I got another shirt, plus took advantage of more FREE items since I had to pay shipping anyway.

My advice, call them and they will HELP YOU with sizing on the phone, often fixing it themselves for no charge. Don't give up yet, they have amazing products for the FREE price!

How About Orange posted a great list of places she goes for printing- here is the link!

Of course, your cards are so cute on the fabric- I can't imagine you could get better cards than that from anyone else!

I love how you added fabric. very cool!

I JUST ordered business cards today from this company:
http://www.nextdayflyers.com/

I haven't seen the final product yet but I saw some that my friend did with them and they were high quality. AND the prices are very reasonable and you get them fast.
Someone else also recommended MOO to me:
